Anand Pattani is Country Manager and Managing Director of Black & Veatch Private Limited, India. Based in Mumbai, Pattani leads efforts to provide energy, water and telecom solutions in one of the world’s fastest growing infrastructure markets.
Pattani leads Black & Veatch’s support for government initiatives such as the restoration of holy rivers and Swachh Bharat through improved wastewater and storm water infrastructure; the commitment to 24 x 7 energy access for every citizen; and the Smart Cities Mission by applying Black & Veatch’s smart integrated infrastructure expertise. His experience includes key roles on numerous projects in India.
Pattani has been with Black & Veatch since 1998. He is a U.S.-licensed professional engineer and has a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Mumbai, India; and a master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia, USA.
India is enjoying a good monsoon this year, but the fact is that a Latur or a Bundelkhand could happen again. The time has come for water experts to impress upon key stakeholders the need to get innovative and adopt alternative water supply solutions by leveraging advanced technologies. By doing so, we would make sustainable and reliable water supply “weather independent”. After all, a single year of abundant rainfall likely won’t replenish historically depleted water sources!
