Muslim Man Dragged Out Of Hotel And Beaten For Being With A Hindu Woman

The Indian Express reported today that a Muslim man was dragged out of a hotel in Rajasthan and beaten for being with a Hindu woman.

According to the news report, shortly after they had checked into the Mansarover Hotel located in Barmer district, the relatives of the Rajput woman arrived at the location and assaulted the Muslim man.

In addition to the woman's family members, hotel owner Multan Parihar said that men from the Shiva Sena, a Hindu fundamentalist party headquartered in Maharashtra, were part of the mob that assaulted the Muslim man. They insisted it was a case of "Love Jihad."

Parihar told IE, "Padu Khan, about 25, had checked in our hotel along with a middle-aged woman around 10 am. The woman was wearing a traditional Rajasthani attire. About half-an -hour later, the woman's relatives somehow came to know that she was here and five persons reached the hotel."

"I then went out, but soon afterwards, my staff informed me about a mob. Men from Shiv Sena had gathered outside and dragged Khan out of the hotel," he said. "They were chanting 'Jai Sri Ram' and brutally assaulting him. Had police delayed any more, he could have been lynched."

Khan has been admitted to hospital.
