In a shameless act, two students studying in a private school in Uttarakhand's Landaura were reportedly stripped by their teacher for scoring low in their English test.

According to the Times of India report, the incident was reported on Tuesday. The parents alleged that "the teacher first reprimanded their daughters and then took off their shirts in front of the entire class as they had performed poorly in the test."

A case under section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the IPC has been registered against the concerned teacher after parents of the students protested, police said.

The parents have demanded installation of CCTV cameras in every classroom and termination of services of the teacher for the behaviour.

The incident has triggered concern among the district education department forcing them to introduce training courses for teachers on "appropriate conduct".

"We have taken cognizance of the incident and asked the school to remove the teacher. We are also issuing an advisory to all schools, asking them to start training courses for teachers on appropriate conduct," district education officer Braham Pal Singh Saini told TOI.
