Former Bigg Boss contestant Mandana Karimi has filed a domestic violence case against her husband, Gaurav Gupta, at Andheri court in Mumbai.

Karimi, who shot to fame after appearing in the ninth season of the reality show Bigg Boss, in her complaint alleged that she was thrown out her house seven weeks ago and was even asked to quit her acting career as the profession was deemed "incompatible with his family's status in the society," Mid-Day quoted her saying.

"I made desperate attempts to reconcile with them, but my in-laws didn't allow me back. Gaurav has cut me off," the model said.

The petition also read that her husband also insisted on her conversion to Hinduism.

The model-turned-actress has, according to the report, asked for maintenance to the extent of ₹10 lakh per month for her basic needs, along with a compensation of ₹2 crore for the trauma and agony caused, and loss of career and business.

The complaint includes Gaurav, his mother Madhu Gupta, father Sushil Gupta and brother Gautam Gupta as respondents in her plea.

The duo got married in a dreamy, fairytale ceremony on March 5, after a court marriage on January 26 this year. The wedding was followed by a grand reception that marked the presence of several big stars, including Ekta Kapoor, Gauahar Khan, Shahid and wife Mira amongst others.
