While Prime Minister Narendra Modi did yoga for some 20 minutes on a rainy morning in Lucknow to mark International Yoga Day, Madhya Pradesh agriculture minister decided to take a little nap during a yoga day function at Chhindwara.

Initially, Gaurishankar Bisen, a politician from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, seemed quite enthusiastic at the yoga event, reported the Hindustan Times. He began by performing some asanas along with 2,000 students, but some 10 minutes into the event he apparently decided that sleep played an equally important role in healthy living. So he walked over toward a sofa, sat down and dozed off.

Bisen later explained to members of the media that he had not been feeling well.

Meanwhile, in Khandwa district, the state's education minister, Vijay Shah, sat around and fiddled with his phone while others performed yoga on the stage. Later, he decided to enlighten people about the benefits of yoga.

When asked why he did not perform any asanas himself, he said that as he had just undergone surgery the doctor had forbidden him from doing yoga. He also clarified that he wasn't just fiddling with his phone. In fact, he had been watching Prime Minister Narendra Modi perform yoga on his phone.
