Known to take a strong stance on social issues, cricketer Gautam Gambhir is faced with a new googly. And like the previous times, he isn't staying quiet this time either. The cricketer, who is a teetotaller, has taken to court the proprietor of a Punjabi Bagh-based restaurant-bar Ghungroo. The issue is that the tag line of the restaurant says 'by Gautam Gambhir'.

The restaurateur is unfazed, and for good reason. His name? Gautam Gambhir.

The Times of India reports that the cricketer has gone to court after the restaurateur ignored requests and a legal notice from the cricketer demanding that he stop using the 'by Gautam Gambhir' branding it his restaurant.

Gambhir the restaurateur says he is flummoxed by the controversy, as he has been running two other restaurants--Hawalat By Gautam Gambhir and Blu Wavs By Gautam Gambhir--in different locations in Delhi for years.

He says he found out about the cricketer's objections only through news reports and hasn't received any letter from the court.

"Woh celebrity aur bahot bade cricketer hain toh meri bhi koi apni identity hai. Ab unka naam Gautam Gambhir hai toh main kya apna naam change kar loon? (He is a big cricketer and celebrity but I also have my own identity. Just because he was named Gautam Gambhir, should I change my name?) Now that the matter is in court, I am ready to fight it legally. I have not made any reference to the cricketer in any way- either in the name or through the ambience of my restaurants," the restaurateur told The Times Of India.

He further adds, "I have never claimed that it is named after cricketer Gautam Gambhir, I am not using any cricket lingo or images, like cricket bat or ball. I am Gautam Gambhir and I have the right to use my name for my ventures."

On social media, many people have been confused.

Being a teetotaller, the cricketer doesn't want his name to be associated with a place selling alcohol.
