As suspenseful as it can get, the announcement of Class 12 board exam results can also be a defining and joyous moment for students who score well. And, the joy of scoring well can only go up manifold if the pressure of exams were not the only thing that a student had to grapple with.

Tushar Rishi from Ranchi secured 95 percent marks in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12th board exams and he achieved this while battling cancer, according to a report in the Hindustan Times.

Rishi was detected with cancer in his left knee and is required to visit the All India Institute of Medical Science in New Delhi every three months. His condition did not deter him from scoring 100 marks out of 100 in Fine Arts, 95 in English and Physics, 93 in Mathematics, and 89 in Computers, according to Hindustan Times.

The HT report said that Rishi was diagnosed with cancer in 2014, just after his mock-board exams. He could not appear for his Class 10th board exams at the time. But the following year, the 19-year-old student of Delhi Public School, Ranchi, appeared for his Class 10th board exams and scored a CGPA of 10.

Now, Rishi wants to pursue an undergraduate degree in either English or Economics.

Rishi has also authored a book, titled The Patient Patient, in which he talks about his struggle with cancer.

In order to cope with his condition, Rishi is currently following a strict diet and an appropriate line of treatment.
