A young woman called Gaanam Nair, aka Jikki Padhoo, went missing in Chennai on the morning of 26 May, when she left for work from her home in Virugambakkam.

The 28-year-old who works at a salon as a marketing manager and has reportedly directed several short and ad films was on her way to office on her two-wheeler but did not make it to her destination.

Her cell phone has been switched off since then. A missing person report was filed by her relatives with KK Nagar women's police station.

According to a report in The News Minute, Nair stays with her aunt and cousins in Chennai. Her mother is no more and her father stays in New Delhi.

She informed her relatives on Friday morning that she was going to work and left on her black Activa but she never made it to her workplace in Nungambakkam.

"She was supposed to go to office but we have learnt that she didn't take the usual route. We are in the process of examining CCTV footage for further clues," an investigating officer told The News Minute.

Meanwhile, social media is flooded with posts about her. Nair's friends and family have started an online campaign and have been desperately searching for her.
