The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) on Monday declared results for both Class XII and Class X, with girls once again outshining boys.
Class XII saw a pass percentage of 96.47, while 98.53 per cent students passed Class X.
Kolkata Girl Ananya Maity has emerged as the Class XII all India topper with 99.5 per cent.
A student of the Heritage School, Kolkata, Maity is one of the unique teenager, who's not hooked on to the social media.
Her father Chinmoy Kumar told Hindustan Times that instead of spending her time on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc, she prefers to read, write and play the piano.
In fact, she doesn't have a Facebook account.
"She loves creative writing and reads a lot of literature," Kumar told HT.
One of her short stories titled 'Choices', has already been published in an anthology called The World I Write In, published by Nivasini Publishers.
Maity, who is described as "wonderful, brilliant and well-behaved" by her teachers, now plans to study psychology in college.
ICSE (Class X) and ISC (Class XII) Examination results this year showed a marginal increase in pass percentages over the previous year's results, said Gerry Arathoon, CEO of the Council.
A total of 73,633 students from 988 schools had appeared for the Class XII examination which was conducted in 50 written subjects of which 16 were Indian languages, 5 foreign languages and one classical language.
