This could be a scene straight out of a Bollywood movie. While Kangana Ranaut as 'Revolver Rani' in the movie may have saved the hero's life, this was slightly different.
In Uttar Pradesh, recently, a 25-year-old woman stopped a wedding, then told everyone that the groom is her lover, and eventually held a gun to his head and abducted him from the mandap.
"Pyaar humse kiya aur shaadi kisi aur se karoge? Yeh hum bardaasht nahi karenge," she declared at the wedding event where over 500 guests were present.
Locals told newspapers that Ashok Yadav, the groom, met his captor a few months ago at work. There, they fell in love and secretly got married in a temple. However, things didn't go as planned when Ashok's family arranged his marriage with a girl living in Hamirpur district's Bhawanipur village.
After his engagement, he reportedly stopped answering his girlfriend's (Now known as 'revolver rani) calls, SMS and WhatsApp messages.
So when the D-day arrived, she drove to the venue in an SUV, accompanied by about two young men and decided to kidnap him.
The groom's father, Ramhet Yadav, was quoted by NDTV as saying, "There was definitely something suspicious about my son. When I tried to visit him in the town where he worked, he would not invite me to his home. Instead, we would meet at a temple and feed me at a food stall near there and then send me home."
The groom is still missing and a case has been registered.
However, the cops expressed admiration for the "Revolver Rani". "What she did shows that there are some women who can teach laundon (young boys) that they will be punished for betrayal," a cop reportedly said.Suggest a correction
