Things really went off the rails at Union Station in Washington D.C. Monday when a video screen meant to play ads started showing porn instead.

The porn suddenly appeared on the digital screen in the Main Hall around 5:30 p.m. and lasted about three minutes ― or about 2.5 minutes longer than the typical porn viewer.

A bystander recorded the explicit footage, which appeared to be streaming from the Pornhub website, according to the Washington Post.

One woman who witnessed the accidental porn told the paper it left her speechless.

“I couldn’t believe this was happening in public and especially during rush hour,” the woman told the paper. “I mean, it was really explicit porn being shown on this huge screen and no one could turn it off.”

Beverly Swaim-Staley, president and CEO of the Union Station Redevelopment Corporation, said the video screen is supposed to display ads, announcements and names of businesses in the station.

She suspects the screen was hacked, but is still investigating.

“With all this new technology comes a lot of things we don’t expect,” she told NBC Washington.

Swaim Staley says the screen has since been shut down until it can be assured no other public displays of explicit activity will happen again.

“They’re new directories, new technologies that they’ve been testing, and obviously they need to find out how this incident occurred,” she told WMAL TV.
