A 22-year-old man from Hyderabad thought the best way to celebrate his birthday would be to fire gunshots in the air. To keep an evidence of the celebration, he even uploaded a video, where he fires 12 shots from a revolver. It went viral.

The Hyderabad police has now arrested him.

The incident happened on 5 May, when Mirza Ibrahim was celebrating his birthday. According to reports, Mirza is an MBA student.

While Mirza was on the run initially, he has now been nabbed.

The case was booked against him after police came across the video on social media. "We booked a case against him under the Arms Act. We will take action against the owners of firearms also. Their license can be cancelled if it is found that they allowed others to misuse their weapon," Falaknuma ACP Tajuddin told Deccan Chronicle.

Additional DCP Babu Rao of the South Zone told The Hindu that the act was an offence irrespective of the licence status of the individual.

Recently, in Haryana's Jind, at a wedding, a guest allegedly fired several rounds of shots in the air, which hit the roof of the house. Seven people, including three women, had to be shifted to hospital after they suffered splinter injuries.
