Former Justice Harish Salva, who represented India in the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on Monday in the Kulbhushan Jadhav case, demanded Jadhav's death sentence be immediately suspended.
India has also maintained in court that Pakistan had violated the Vienna convention.
The court was also told that India's 16 requests for consular access had fallen 'deaf ears'
The ICJ began hearing Jadhav's case on Monday, India has told the court that basic human rights had been violated by Pakistan in handing out a death sentence to Jadhav. It also told the court that Jadhav was framed.
India also told the court that Jadhav could be executed even before the arguments at the ICJ were over.
Salve also sought that get appropriate legal representation in court. He also told the court that Pakistan had made no Jadhav's execution did not take place. He said if it did take place, it would cause irreparable damage.
The court was also informed that visa applications made by Jadhav's parents did not get any approval from Pakistan. Salve also informed the court that even Jadhav's chargesheet was not made available to India.
India also told the court that it has consistently said that Jadhav was kidnapped from Iran and his "confession was extracted in military custody."
Telling the court that Jadhav's current situation is not known, Salve said before the court that the present situation was grave and that is why India approached the ICJ under such short notice.
India, repeating what it was said in Parliament by Sushma Swaraj, told the court that the Pakistan court's judgement was farcical.
After India, Pakistan will make a representation in from of the ICJ. Both sides get 90 minutes.
Jadhav was arrested on March 3, 2016. A military court awarded a death sentence to Jadhav last month on charges of espionage.
India has acknowledged that Jadhav was with the Indian navy and was kidnapped from Iran. The government has said he had retired from the Navy and had no connection with it.
