More OnePlus 5 Specifications Leaked As CEO Confirms Work On Smartphone Under Way In Full Swing

The phone is likely to have a 3,600 mAh battery with improved charging time.

After the launch of Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6 smartphones, OnePlus 5 is among the most anticipated phones of the year. Phonemaker OnePlus traditionally launches its phones in the middle of the year and, after OnePlus3 and OnePlus3T, it will be skipping a number in naming its next model. CEO Peter Lau confirmed that the new OnePlus phone will be called OnePlus 5.

A new Weibo leak by Kumamoto Technology suggests that the phone will have a 3,600 mAh battery with 25 percent improvement in charging time. The leak also suggests that, like its predecessors, the phone will have a 6 GB RAM capacity and not the 8 GB rumoured earlier. It is quite likely that the smartphone will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor.

The post also notes that OnePlus 5's dual-camera setup will be placed on the top left corner just as in Xiaomi's Mi 6. The phone is unlikely to have any other major design changes. The front of the phone will retain the fingerprint sensor, just as in OnePlus 3T.

The Weibo leak mentioned that no information was available on the headphone jack. No details on the launch date of OnePlus 5 are available as of now.
