A 17-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide after he was repeatedly questioned by police about the deaths of two young girls in Kerala. The boy had been interrogated by police after two sisters—aged 9 and 11 years—appeared to have committed suicide within two months of each other. They were reportedly sexually abused by some relatives and neighbours, and the police had made some arrests in the case. The boy lived in the same neighbourhood as the girls in Walayar.
While the elder girl had apparently committed suicide in January this year, her younger sister also killed herself in March. The parents of the girls have, however, reportedly alleged that the girls did not commit suicide.
The police found that the sexual abuse of the two sisters were recorded by the accused on their mobile phones. The investigation in the case is ongoing. Seven people have been reportedly arrested in this case already.
The cops had taken the 17-year-old into custody a few weeks ago and then called him for interrogation again this week, according to reports.
