Hours after the footage of a CRPF jawan who refused to react to heckling by a group of Kashmiri youth took social media by storm, another shocking video has emerged from Budgam in Jammu and Kashmir.
While the soldier in the first video has been collectively praised for showing admirable restraint in the face of adversity, the scene captured by the latter has sparked outrage among Kashmiris.
As PTI reported, the clip showed a youth "allegedly tied to an army jeep as a human shield against stone pelting". In no time it went viral on social media, with former chief minister Omar Abdullah condemning it as "shocking".
PTI added, "The video was reportedly shot in Beerwah area of Budgam district where miscreants disrupted polling during Sunday's bypoll to Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency by pelting stones."
It is not clear who shot the footage nor are the license plates of the vehicles in it visible properly. The Wire reported a ministry of defence official in Srinagar saying that the contents of the video are being verified and investigated."
