Uttar Pradesh chief minister, Yogi Adityanath's saffron outfit, Hindu Yuva Vahini roughed up a couple in Meerut on suspicion of 'love jihad'.

Activists of the outfit apparently barged into the couple's home and dragged them to the police, demanding action against them.

Narendra Singh Tomar, the head of the Hindu Yuva Vahini in wester Uttar Pradesh told the ANI, "I have asked the police to take strict action as the Muslim boy was romancing with a Hindu girl in the house. He wanted to convert her religon. I also insist [sic] to take strict action against the landlords, who give rooms on rent without proper verification."

'Love Jihad' and Ghar Wapasi have been top priority on the Vahini's agenda. On 7 April, the members of the Vahini got the police to halt prayers at a church in Uttar Pradesh's Maharajganj, alleging forced conversion.
