Even as India summoned Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit and issued a demarche against Pakistan on Monday, terming the death sentence against Kulbhushan Jadhav a 'case of premeditated murder', the issue dominated discussions in Parliament on Tuesday morning with the usually bickering Parliament uniting in demanding justice for Jadhav.
Congress gave an adjournment motion notice in Lok Sabha over the matter.
Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge said that the government would come across as weak if no action was taken against the death sentence against Jadhav.

A Pakistan court had said on Monday that former Indian Navy officer Jadhav would be hanged on charges of "espionage" and "sabotage".
India retaliated by summoning Basit and issuing a demarche. The Times Of India quoted the demarche as saying, "The proceedings that have led to the sentence against Shri Jadhav are farcical in the absence of any credible evidence against him. It is significant that our High Commission was not even informed that Shri Jadhav was being brought to trial."
It further said, "If this sentence against an Indian citizen, awarded without observing basic norms of law and justice, is carried out, the Government and people of India will regard it as a case of premeditated murder."
