A golgappa seller in Mangolpuri in outer Delhi was reportedly stabbed to death by a group of five men after he refused to serve them the snack late on Sunday night.

According to the police, five men, including two juveniles have been arrested for the murder and they have confessed to the crime. The men said that they were drunk on the night of the incident and stabbed the victim many times before fleeing from the spot.

28-year-old Raju served street food along with his father. Late on Sunday evening, Raju was returning home after packing up when the accused accosted him on the road and asked him to serve them golgappa. Raju told them that he did not have the ingredients to prepare the snack.

"The men insisted on having golgappe. When Raju refused, they began assaulting him. One of them took out a knife and stabbed him multiple times till he collapsed on the road," HT quoted an investigating officer saying.

Raju was close to his home and his father was walking a couple of hundred metres ahead of him. Upon hearing his screams, his family and neighbours rushed him to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

Three of the accused have been identified as Gogi (22), Anil (28) and Nikhil (24) — all residents of Mangolpuri.

"Through our technical surveillance and criminal intelligence network, we tracked down Gogi's location in Agra and arrested him on Monday night. His interrogation led us to the other accused," DCP MN Tiwari said.
