This Is How Akshay Kumar Reacted On Learning About His National Award Win

Akshay Kumar is arguably one of the biggest underdogs in Bollywood, as far as awards are concerned.

While even the likes of Tiger Shroff and Sooraj Pancholi, who are yet to establish themselves as actors, have won awards (which only goes on to speak for the quality of these ceremonies), Akshay Kumar hasn't won any major ones, despite being a highly prolific actor (he does an average of 4 films in a year.)

He has won only 2 Filmfare Awards (one for Ajnabee and another for Garam Masala) and one Screen Award. He got a few of IIFAs in early 2000s and that was about it.

So, when news broke that he's won the National Award for Rustom, the film based on the Nanavati Murder Case, the actor must have surely felt a sense of vindication.

In a Facebook video, he thanked his family, especially his wife Twinkle Khanna, who'd make fun of him as he 'never won any awards.'
