Two Killed, Six Injured In Fire At Kolkata's Golden Parkk Hotel

KOLKATA -- A major fire broke out at a city hotel here early on Thursday killing two persons and injuring at least six others, a fire brigade official said.

The fire broke out on the ground floor of Golden Parkk Hotel at around 2.55 a.m., the official said.

"We managed to rescue 31 people from the hotel. Six of them who were injured were shifted to the SSKM Hospital," he added.

As many as 10 fire tenders were pressed into service that worked for two hours to control the blaze.

"The situation is under control. The reason of the fire can be comprehended only after forensic investigations," he added.
