Most often, we don't get to know how hygienic restaurants and cafes are. But it seems, a law student in Jaipur found that his popular coffee from Cafe Coffee Day may not be quite clean. However, he didn't really get rewarded for it.

A video that has gone viral on social media shows a student, Arpan Verma apparently first spotting cockroaches inside a refrigerator at a CCD outlet. He is seen pointing towards the cockroaches and then an employee. In the video, the woman employee can be seen walking up to Verma and then suddenly slapping him. It ends right after that.

The video was shared by a Nikhil Anand Singh on Twitter.

According to Singh's tweet, Verma had complained and had asked for a refund of money. However, the staff went on to serve the food from the same fridge. The staff also reportedly his the fridge's portion where cockroaches and other bugs were present with menu cards.

"Being at the forefront of the abuses and threats received by the employees I started recording the abysmal state of hygiene wherein the cockroaches and other bugs present in the fridge were captured in the video and also depicted the employees who did not pay any heed to the request [sic]," Arpan tweeted.

CCD said it's aware of the incident and trying to figure the course of action.

"The incident has been brought to our notice and has been escalated. Our corporate affairs team is in talks with the consumer and the internal cafe team to ascertain facts", Cafe Coffee Day spokesperson told NDTV.
