This may sound like the 'dog ate my homework' excuse, but Nagpur Government Railway Police has claimed that 25 kg of seized marijuana have been consumed by the rats.

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror today, some seized marijuana and a large quantity of liquor have been found missing from the godown in Nagpur in which they were stored.

While Abhay Panhekar, senior inspector, Nagpur GRP didn't quite remember how many bottles are missing because it was seized about five years ago, he had an explanation for all the missing things. Panhekar told Mirror that because there's no storage facility they often keep seized drugs on the floor. "Maybe some rats could have been damaging the pouches in which the marijuana is kept," he said.

According to the inspector, rats are responsible for the missing liquor too. He said that the rats may have damaged the bottle causing the spirit to evaporate.

Meanwhile, the superintendent of police has said that they will be installing a CCTV cameras in the store room. Maybe it's their way of keeping an eye on the rats?
