Lenovo has announced that it will launch the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus smartphones in India on 15 March. The phones were launched two days ago at the ongoing Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The Moto G5 has a 5.0 inch full HD display, uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chip for processing power, and has 2 GB of RAM. With 16 GB storage, it features an impressive 13 MP rear camera with a f/2.0 aperture and a 5 MP front camera. The Moto G5 has a removable 2,800 mAh battery. Surprisingly, turbocharging is not available for this variant.

The higher-end Moto G5 Plus has a bigger 5.2 inch full HD display and, under the hood, it employs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor. It has 3 GB of RAM and comes with 32 GB of storage.

The G5 Plus sports a 12 MP sensor with a f/1.7 aperture in its rear camera and a 5 MP sensor in the front camera. It has a 3,000 mAh battery that can be turbocharged.

Both phones have upgraded to a metal body, replacing the plastic used in last year's Moto G series phones, and the shape of the fingerprint sensor on the front has also been altered. Lenovo will be banking on the two models for healthy sales in India and the phone-maker could bump up their price a bit as compared to the last year's models. Still, the price for both the phones should remain under ₹20,000.
