BlackBerry may have stopped producing phones but its name lives on. BlackBerry and TCL have launched the BlackBerry KEYone Android flagship phone.

Announced yesterday in Barcelona at the Mobile World Congress, this is the last phone which is designed by the iconic Canadian company. From now on, TCL will design the phones in-house.

KEYone has a 4.5 inch full HD display with a physical keyboard on the bottom. The phone runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chip, which is from the Qualcomm's flagship range and is powerful enough. KEYone has 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory; it also supports microSD card up to 2 TB.

The smartphone has 12 MP rear camera which has an aperture of f/2.0 and uses a Sony sensor. The front camera is of 8 MP. BlackBerry KEYone has a sizable battery size of 3505 mAh and uses a USB type C port for charging.

The software on the phone is handled by Blackberry with its trademark security. It runs Android Nougat 7.1 out of the box. It will also have BlackBerry hub and DTEK security apps pre-installed.

One of the unique features of the phone is the smart keyboard where the space bar acts as a fingerprint sensor. Also, the whole keyboard has a capacitive touch for scrolling. Each key of the keyboard can be mapped with a custom shortcut as well.

BlackBerry KEYone will be available in April 2017 and will cost $549 in the US. The availability of the phone in India is not yet clear.
