According to a report, Rajasthan Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Chandra Kanta Meghwal's husband thrashed a police official over the issuance of a challan to a BJP party worker's vehicle.

Narendra Meghwal reportedly stormed into the police station in Kota and demanded that the challan be cancelled. In the ensuing argument, Meghwal slapped a police officer. According to a report in the Indian Express, those accompanying Meghwal began pelting the police station building with stones and a brawl broke out, which was partially captured on camera. Reportedly, the policemen used their batons to control the gathering crowd.

Chandrakanta Meghwal, the BJP MLA from Ramganj Mandi in Kota, claimed that her husband and his companions had been detained and many injured party workers had to be taken to the hospital. She also said that her sari was torn and her bangles broken in the clash, reported the NDTV.

Ram Basaida, SHO, Mahaveernagar Police Station, said that a police personnel had been manhandled and thrashed, but denied reports that the MLA and other BJP leaders had been detained.

Reportedly, four policemen, including the one who had been slapped, have already been transferred and a complaint has been registered against Meghwal and some BJP workers.
