AIADMK General Secretary Sasikala Natarajan has no special privileges in jail, according to reports. Sasikala is serving a jail sentence at Bengaluru's Parapanna Agrahara prison after the Supreme Court on 14 February restored her conviction in the disproportionate assets case.
She was awarded four years in prison but will remain in jail for three years and 11 months, since she had already spent 21 days in Parappana Agrahara jail after conviction by the trial court in September 2014.
She has been given a television set according to jail rules, the Hindu reported. A female guard is posted outside her cell and she is being provided regular food, clothing and utensils like other prisoners, the paper quoted a release issued by chief superintendent of Parappana Agrahara Central Prison, Krishna Kumar, as saying.
