The Supreme Court on Friday ordered registration of an FIR against Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Gayatri Prajapati in connection with a gang-rape and sexual harassment case.
The apex court also directed the Uttar Pradesh Police to file a status report in the case within a period of eight weeks.
A 35-year-old woman had accused Prajapati of raping her when she met him three years ago.
He also took some obscene photos of the victim and then threatened the woman to make the photos public and raped her for the past two years, according to the complaint.
