RJD supremo, Lalu Prasad Yadav, ended up embarrassing himself a little during a public event in Patna, when he mistakenly sat down on a chair reserved for Bihar chief minister, Nitish Kumar.
No sooner had he sat down than he realised his mistake. Upon being told by the organisers of the event that the chair was reserved for the chief minister, he quickly moved over to the one next to it, vacating the seat for his alliance partner.
Anyone could have made such a mistake but unfortunately for Lalu Prasad Yadav, he is under constant media scrutiny. A faux pas like this obviously raised some eyebrows, almost as if it were a Freudian slip.
The incident becomes especially significant in light of reports from earlier this year, when Lalu Prasad Yadav was apparently miffed for having to sit in the audience during an event to celebrate Prakash Parv, while Nitish Kumar and Narendra Modi shared stage.
Speaking of which, it would seem that Nitish Kumar is increasingly growing closer to the prime minister, especially with his prohibition drive in the state and his endorsement of the demonetisation move. Recently, the Bihar CM was found painting a lotus, which the BJP described as Nitish 'colouring his political intentions'. Of course Lalu Prasad Yadav downplayed the incident but it didn't stop the tongues from wagging.
