Here's What Mahira Khan Thinks Of Being A Single Mother Living In Pakistan

No holds barred.
Indiatimes

Mahira Khan, who made her Bollywood debut with Shah Rukh Khan's Raees, thinks that being a single mother in Pakistan makes her an anomaly in the notoriously conservative country.

While the actress couldn't be in India to promote the film (thanks to an arbitrary ban that prevents Pak artists from traveling to India), she has given an interview to The Quint, where she spoke about raising a child as a single mother.

She said that she feels she is an anomaly in her country and that she hopes that in the coming years there will be 'more women like me'.

She added, "It is something which women all across the world do. I do only one film at a time. My first priority is my child. So it's a lot of hard work. But it can done. It's all about choices. Many times, I have to let go of good work. Fortunately, the work I've done has worked for me."

She also added that as a mother, she is always thinking of her child, whether is during a movie shoot or during an interview.
