A first year college student died in Mussoorie last week after he fell down 50 feet into a ravine near Kolukhet on Dehradun-Mussoorie road. He was trying to take a selfie while returning from his holiday in Mussoorie, reported The Times of India.

Muneer Ahmed, 22, was studying BCom in a private college in Dehradun. According to the report, he had gone for a day to Mussoorie with his friend. On their way back, they reportedly parked their motorcycle and were taking photos when Ahmed fell. It took two hours to find his body, and he is believed to have died on the spot due to head injuries.

More people have died taking selfies in India than anywhere in the world, according to a study last year. Around 76 of the 127 reported selfie deaths between March 2014 to September 2016 were in India.
