In an unprecedented move, AIADMK MLAs elected VK Sasikala as the Legislative Party Leader in a meeting in Chennai yesterday. The current chief minister of Tamil Nadu, O Paneerselvam, who was sworn in after J Jayalalithaa's demise late last year, also resigned from office, making the way for Sasikala, or Chinamma as she is called for being a close aide of Amma or Jayalalithaa for over three decades, to become the new CM of the state.
MK Stalin, the Working President of the Opposition DMK in Tamil Nadu, is understandably worried about the internal coup in the AIADMK.
