Major Train Accident Averted In Maharashtra, Authorities Suspect Sabotage

DIVA (MAHARASHTRA) -- A major train accident was averted in Maharashtra early on Thursday.

Timely action by the train driver near the Diva Railway station prevented the Jan Shatabdi Express Train going over a railway track that that was in a state of disrepair.

Central railway authorities suspect that it is a case of sabotage. General Manager D.K Sharma confirmed such a possibility and said a probe has been ordered

The Madgaon-bound Janshatabdi Express was carrying 700 passengers, at the time of the detection of the disrupted railway track.

Loco pilots applied emergency brakes in the nick of time.The stoppage caused a 15-minute delay.
