On Monday night, a man, identified as Farid Khan Sherani, died of cardiac arrest when he went to catch a glimpse of Shah Rukh Khan at the Vadodara railway station. He was in his early 50s and was present there with his wife and daughter.

SRK was crossing Vadodara as part of a promotional strategy for his upcoming film. He caught the August Kranti Express from Andheri station in Mumbai and was met with a huge crowd at the Vadodara railway station.

Here's a clip of the crowd that had gathered at the station.

According to sources, there weren't adequate police personnel to control the crowd who went berserk on seeing Khan wave at them. As a security measure, Khan didn't get out of the train but stood on the gates.

After the train departed, there was a mad rush on the station as people jostled to leave. Sherani was caught in the crowd and reportedly collapsed due to suffocation. Sources also indicated that the police lathi-charged the crowds.

A source familiar with the incident said that Sherani suffered a blow by the stick too. He was a heart patient.
