A Man Was Stripped Naked, Brutally Beaten & Tied To A Pole By A Mob In Kerala, But No One Knows Why

In an appalling instance of mob violence, a man was was stripped naked, beaten and tied to an electric pole in Kodungallur, Kerala, but no one including the police knows why he was attacked so brutally on Saturday.

While Salam was beaten by around nine people for two hours with iron rods and sticks, some people took videos and photographs of the incident and circulated the footage on WhatsApp. The police found him tied to an electric pole with a rope, with no clothes on. He has lost three teeth and has serious wounds all over his body.

Describing it as an "incident of moral policing," The News Minute reported that Salam was "attacked by the mob alleging that he was found roaming around in suspicious circumstances."

The police are trying to find out why Salam was beaten so brutally. "Since it was an attack from public, we need to find out who were involved and what was the exact motive. Salam was stripped nude and beaten. He has been admitted to the Kodunagallur Taluk hospital," Kodungallur Sub-inspector Rajagopal told The NewsMinute.
