A 44-year-old man was allegedly carrying on an affair with his 'friend's' wife in Pune for seven years before he was finally caught, reported The Times of India. Rajesh Ghisulal Mehta would reportedly dress in drag to hide his identity and enter his friend's home, usually when his wife was alone at home. Last Wednesday, though, his friend was at home when he decided to make his usual visit.

According to the report, Mehta entered his friend's house wearing a salwar kameez. On seeing his friend asleep inside the house, he allegedly tried to sedate him using a rag soaked with a chloroform-like substance. When his friend woke up instead, Mehta allegedly ran into a bedroom and locked himself, the friend has reportedly said in his complaint to the police. He then allegedly changed into a nightie and ran away, hurling abuses, claimed the complainant.

Mehta's former friend is a utensils businessman who lives with his wife and two children in a bungalow in Shukrawar Peth in Pune, reported TOI.

Mehta was arrested by police on Saturday and booked under several sections of the Indian Penal Code including trespassing and voluntarily causing hurt. While his lawyer has dismissed the allegations as false, Mehta has been remanded to police custody till 10 January, reported TOI.
