Imagine a cultivation centre in your neighbour's apartment-- with lines of potted plants under LED lights, artificial heat and air conditioner-- growing well, marijuana. No, it's not a scene from Breaking Bad, but clearlyWalter White has competition.

About three months ago, a 33-year-old Hyderabad man, started cultivating ganja in his own 3 bhk apartment, thanks to his friend who lives in the US, who helped him find videos online.

Syed Shahed Hussain, a resident of Manikonda - a commercial hub, was arrested on Sunday while he was trying to sell some of the ganja that he grew in his flat. According to reports, nearly nine kg of marijuana along with 40 pots containing its plants were seized from his apartment.

Hussain put in a lot of effort in arranging for this mini nursery. The former bank employee did this with scientific precision and did not leave anything to chance while growing his prized saplings.

He installed air-conditioners in both rooms to maintain a conducive temperature and kept table fans in swing mode to give the plants sufficient air.

Hussain also kept LED lights above the plants to maintain natural light-like situation.

He used phosphorous and potassium as nutrients, while he used cocofibre pith, flora pellet, Aquasol, Aquadene and cay stones as a germinating medium.

Hussain got the soil from Agency areas in Visakhapatnam and Karnataka, known for marijuana cultivation. He managed to purchase all the ingredients from local stores without leading to raised eyebrows.

However, in the end, Hussain ran out of luck.
