Pre-Booking Starts For Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Launch On 13 January

The premium hatchback would be available only through Nexa showrooms.

Maruti Suzuki has started accepting advanced bookings for its much-awaited premium hatchback Ignis. The car is set to be launched on 13 January. The model was shown off at last year's auto expo and was slated for the launch before the end of the year but it was delayed to meet the demand of the other models of the company.

The car will be sold only through Maruti Suzuki's premium Nexa outlets. As of now company owns 197 such outlets across 115 cities in the country.

A total of four variants of the model will be launched. Maruti Suzuki is giving the option of either diesel or petrol engine and manual or automatic transmission. The variants will be called Alpha, Zeta, Delta, and Sigma namely.

The car is going to have a touchscreen infotainment system which would be compliant with Apple's CarPlay. It would also have climate control and rear parking camera. Ignis will have LED headlamps and 15-inch alloy or steel wheel. The features would vary from the variant to variant.

Maruti Suzuki Ignis will use the same engine which is being used in Baleno with some modifications. Apart from EBD and ABS it will have child protection system as well. The interior of the car will be of high-quality dual tone faux leather.

While the website of Maruti Suzuki has started with the car booking on the website the ex-showroom price is expected to be 5.5 to 5.8 lakhs.
