Just a week ago, Kareena Kapoor Khan and her husband Saif Ali Khan were criticised by self-declared historians on Twitter after the Bollywood couple announced the name of their son -- Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi. The trolling went on for several days and became incredibly toxic.
If that wasn't enough, Indian pacer Mohammed Shami recently became a victim of religious bigotry online, after being attacked by the moral police over a photo himself with his wife, in which she was accused of wearing an 'immodest' attire.
In yet another instance of intolerance and online trolling, stand-up comedian and Kolkata RJ Mir Afsar Ali was criticised after he posted a picture of his family celebrating Christmas. The comments he received were in Bengali, criticising him for celebrating Christmas and reminding him he is Muslim.
The RJ retaliated by posting screenshots of some of these remarks, along with a strongly-worded message. His post has gone viral since, getting over 7,000 likes and over 1,000 shares.
In the midst of this s**tstorm, Mir didn't lose his cool or his famous sense of humour.
He wrote:
Wishful thought of the season:
Yeh Christmasjitni 'Merry' hai, utni hi hai 'Teri'..
ParAfsos, tusamjhegaanahin...
