Mufflerman Returns.

Arvind Kejriwal is a not a man prone to light-hearted banter on social platforms. Before he took over as the Chief Minister of Delhi with an overwhelming public mandate, the tax officer-turned-anti-corruption activist led street marches with his fiery oratory. He still uses Twitter as a platform to bitterly rant against his political opponents.

In his time in office, two habits of the chief minister have almost become personality ticks -- his persistent coughing and the ubiquitous muffler that comes out the moment the chill sets in. His muffler has, over the years, become a meme of its own. Kejriwal could be leading a hot-headed charge against the arch-rivals BJP during a complex political standoff, but his head will be comically wrapped in the woollen garment.

He has shunned Z-plus protection cover after coming to office, but winter cold on the other hand is altogether another beast that Kejriwal guards warily against.

So much so, the popular comedy collective All India Bakchod (AIB) even made a video inspired by the muffler, which he has in dull shades of blue and grey.

So when the Aam Aadmi Party supremo tweeted this, clearly tipping his hat to the myriad jokes on his muffler, it was a rare moment of self-derision from the usually serious man that was not lost on his followers.

They reacted swiftly and without mercy.

Ah well. It remains to be seen if Kejriwal will be able to catapult the humble muffler to stardom in a world of fashionable woollen winter accessories, but at least we know that the CM has declared the winter open.
