Patna-Guwahati Capital Express Derails In West Bengal, 10 Injured

ALIPURDUAR -- At least 10 people were injured when two coaches and the engine of Guwahati-bound Capital Express from Bihar's Rajendra Nagar Terminal derailed in North Bengal on Tuesday night.

The incident took place shortly after 9 PM near Shamuktala Road station, which is about 32 km from Alipurduar Railway Division headquarters.

North East Frontier Railway officials said an accident relief train has already reached the spot from Alipurduar along with senior railway officials.

The injured have been rushed to Alipurduar district hospital for treatment and relief and rescue work is underway, said Alipurduar DRM Sanjiv Kishore.
