Prayers For Jayalalithaa's Speedy Recovery Pour In On Twitter

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, who is undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospitals, suffered a cardiac arrest in Chennai on Sunday evening.

Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, issued a statement stating that the CM was being treated and monitored by a team of experts, including cardiologists, pulmonologist, and the critical care specialists.

Security was beefed up around the hospital as hundreds of distraught workers of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) gathered outside to pray for the leader.

Various political leaders including President Pranab Mukherjee, Mamata Banerjee, Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter to express their concerns for Amma and wished her a speedy recovery.

Apollo Hospitals where she is undergoing treatment tweeted too:

"Our prayers are with her and we hope she will recover soon. We request all of you to pray for her good health and well being. #GodblessAmma"

Chess champion Anand also wished her speedy recovery.

The country's film fraternity joined in as well.
