Currently enjoying the second spot in the Indian smartphone market, Lenovo yesterday introduced a high battery capacity phone in India. The Lenovo Vibe K6 Power with a 4,000 mAh battery was launched at ₹9,999. While the market for smartphones priced around ₹10,000 is getting crowded, some phones stand out for their good battery life.

Lenovo's latest offering will face tough competition from Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime and the newly launched Asus Zenfone Max 3, which have battery sizes of 4100 mAh and 4130 mAh respectively.

Xiaomi

The K6 Vibe scores top marks for its 5-inch full HD display while Redmi 3S Prime settles with a 5-inch 720p display. At 5.2 inches, the Zenfone 3 Max has a slightly bigger display but, again, with a resolution of 720p. Under the hood, both the Lenovo and Xiaomi phones are equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, while the Zenfone relies on the Mediatek MT6737M chip.

All three phones have two variants with different RAM capacities and internal memories. The lower-end version has 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory, while the high-end version carries 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory.

Asus

All three phones boast a 13 MP rear camera, though their front camera specs vary. The Vibe K6 Power sports an 8 MP sensor while the other two have a 5 MP sensor for selfies. The three smartphones are also all based on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1, with Lenovo's smartphone being the closest to the stock Android experience. Redmi 3S Prime uses Xiaomi's famed MIUI 8 customisation, while Zenfone 3 Max has Asus's ZenUI 3. The three phones also all have a fingerprint sensor.

Xiaomi's Redmi 3S Prime is the cheapest of the lot at ₹8,999 followed by Lenovo Vibe K6 Power at ₹9,999 and Asus' Zenfone 3 Max is priced at ₹12,999. With so little to distinguish the three phones from each other, availability and long-term performance will be the key to their success.
