Ten years after they made their debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya, industry kids Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor are set to reunite on-screen for Rajkumar Hirani.

Hirani is currently in the midst of laying the groundwork for a biopic on his good friend Sanjay Dutt, a role that Ranbir will be essaying.

According to a Mumbai Mirror report, Sonam has been locked in to play the role of one of the many women that Dutt dated in his younger days.

A source was quoted in the paper as saying, "Her character is not reflective of any particular woman but is a fictional amalgamation of the many women Dutt dated through the 1980s and 90s," reveals a source close to the development."

Among the many actresses Dutt dated, his affair with Madhuri Dixit and Lisa Ray was widely known.

Hirani has repeatedly said that he wants to keep the biopic as 'honest' as possible.

In an interview with PTI, he had said, "He (Sanjay) has shared his story and wants it to be made and we want to keep it as honest as possible. We have worked (on) the script with Sanjay. I narrated it to him when he was here and he was happy with it. The film will see Sanjay as he is and for what he is."

Although Saawariya, an adaptation of Fyodor Dostoyevsky's short story White Nights, tanked at the box-office (it released on the same day as Shah Rukh Khan's Om Shanti Om, a blockbuster) both Sonam and Ranbir have had successful careers in Bollywood.
