Priyanka Chopra is a model, singer, former Miss World and Bollywood superstar who has made a big splash on American television as the star of the ABC drama “Quantico.”
But at the end of the day, she gets just as weak as the rest of the us at the sight of a sweet, cuddly puppy.
Chopra was surprised with a bundle of rescue pups during a BuzzFeed interview filmed on Veteran’s Day. After playing with the four dogs the entire time, she ended up adopting one ― a brown furball she later named Diana.
“I’ve been waiting to get a puppy because my dog is a cocker spaniel, and he’s back home in Mumbai with my mom and I really, really miss him,” Chopra said in the video. “But he’s really old, he can’t travel now.”
The Indian actress told BuzzFeed she had been hoping to adopt another dog within the next year ― a New Year’s resolution that she can already cross off her list.
All four puppies in Chopra’s video shoot came from the North Shore Animal League America, a rescue and adoption organization based in Port Washington, New York. Chopra ended up adopting her puppy just a day after the interview, the shelter’s communications director, Kathleen Lynn, told The Huffington Post.
“Our fondest dream for all our puppies is to have a home with as much love as Priyanka showed these puppies when she met them,” Lynn said.
The North Shore Animal League will be having a Black Friday Adoption special this week. Adoption fees will be waived for the first 50 approved adopters. For more information, visit: www.animalleague.org.
