Deepika Padukone, who has just wrapped up shooting for her Hollywood debut XXX: The Return of Xander Cage, a hardcore Hollywood thriller where she looks extremely glamorous.

But it appears that Padukone has had a rather quick and a drastic transformation.

In new stills that have emerged online, Padukone looks practically unrecognizable. The pictures are apparently from Iranian auteur Majid Majidi's yet-untitled project.

This is how our Deepika looks on a regular day.

However, days after the EMA awards, she was spotted at Mumbai's Dhobi Ghat area, shooting for what is being called as Majidi's 'secret project.'

Majidi is known for films like The Color of Paradise, The Songs of Sparrow, and the Oscar-nominated Children of Heaven.

Have a look at these pictures.

From the looks of it, it appears that Padukone plays a street-dweller of sorts.

While the details of the film have been kept heavily-guarded, a casting director associated with the project told DNA, "It is an Indian story and will be shot in Mumbai, Delhi, parts of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan and Kashmir. It will take off towards the year-end or early 2017 and is a signature Majidi film with new takes on relationships and emotional quotients."

That's quite a stunning surprise. While one knew that Majidi has been planning a film in India, nobody quite expected that it'll land in Deepika's lap.

Guess, the girl has plans to woo India, Hollywood, and a fair bit of world cinema too.
