Terrorists Attack Police Convoy In J&K's Handwara

HANDWARA -- Terrorists again opened fire at a vehicle of the Jammu and Kashmir Police at Tootigund in Handwara district late on Saturday night, a day after one Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) jawan was killed and eight others injured after terrorists attacked their convoy near a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp at Zakura.

Three companies of SSB were returning after patrolling in six trucks on Friday, when the convoy was attacked the by militants at Zakura on the outskirts of Srinagar along the road to Ladakh.

The SSB men retaliated by returning fire but the militants reportedly fled from the scene, Kumar added.
