How far would you go to avenge your broken heart? For a 35-year-old woman from Palwal in Haryana, it was murder. The woman, identified as Aarti, reportedly made three crude bombs with firecracker powder, nails, glass and stones. She was planning to blow her ex-boyfriend, Rakesh, to pieces after he walked out of their six-year-long live-in relationship to go back to his ex-wife and children. Her partner-in-crime was another ex-boyfriend, Pradeep alias Daroga, reported The Indian Express.
Aarti and Pradeep had already allegedly murdered Babu Lal, a 65-year-old distant relative of Rakesh's, who had reportedly helped Rakesh and his wife reconcile. Local police told Indian Express that the duo had slit Lal's throat on 3 October, and were planning to blow up Rakesh when cops caught up with them. Police recovered three home-made bombs in Aarti's friend's house, who claimed to be unaware that she had hidden them in some luggage, reported Express.
"We found three bombs hidden inside the house, and defused them within three to four hours," a local police officer told Express. "They were desi bombs, similar to a grenade, which explode on impact after hitting a surface."
According to the report, Aarti had met Rakesh in 2010, and he left his wife and three children to move in with her. After six years, he decided to leave Aarti for his wife and family. Incensed, she turned to another ex-boyfriend, Pradeep, who has several criminal cases against him for murder, attempt to murder, and robbery in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, according to Express. Together, they planned Aarti's revenge on Rakesh and his family.
