When India's former Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) went to Mexico for a conference last year, little did he know he would end up finding that Special One who has more in common with him than he could have ever hoped for.
According to an article in The Telegraph, former CEC Shahabuddin Yaqub Quraishi met Ila Sharma at the conference a year ago and hit it off immediately. While their topics of discussion may have been unorthodox β poll funding, clean elections and transparency in bureaucracy β Sharma was obviously charmed since she is the Election Commissioner of Nepal.
"There's this personal bond between us."
69-year-old Quraishi, a prominent figure in Lutyens' Delhi, is now being pestered about their wedding plans, since it had been deferred twice already.
Sharma, a 49-year-old former journalist, was selected as the Election Commissioner of Nepal for a six-year term, shortly before the November 2013 polls.
Reportedly, the couple faced mild resistance from both their families.
