Gopichand's Biopic To Be Directed By National Award-Winning Filmmaker Praveen Sattaru

Will be made in English, Hindi, and Telugu.

Indian-American filmmaker Praveen Sattaru is set to direct chief badminton coach Pullela Gopichand's biopic, which his set to hit the floors next year.

Gopichand, who guided Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu to Olympic medals, will be portrayed by noted Telugu actor Sudheer Babu in the film.

Incidentally, Babu, who is also a badminton player, had trained under Gopichand briefly.

Earlier this year, he had made his debut in the Hindi film industry in Sabbir Khan's Baaghi as the chief antagonist.

According to a report in The Hindu, the yet-untitled film will be made in Telugu, Hindi as well as English.

A source told IANS:

"The pre-production work has already started and the project will go on the floors next year."

The the film will be shot across China, Japan, Ireland, Scotland, and India.

Sattaru, who primarily works in the Telugu film industry, had won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu for his film critically acclaimed anthology film, Chandamama Kathalu (2014).
